In the past, we have discussed our team’s relationship with Parkinson’s Disease, including Common Hope: the national collaboration beer that we spearheaded with Team Fox, the grass-roots arm of the Michael J. Fox Foundation.
Members of our team and family have been affected by Parkinson’s, and over the years many of us have supported multiple initiatives and made donations to support efforts to fight this debilitating disease.
Last weekend, we sponsored and took part in one of our favorite events related to building Parkinson’s awareness (as well as funds for research): the annual Michael J. Fox Foundation’s Boston Run/Walk.
Every year the Boston Run/Walk is held at Linscott Park in Swampscott, on the border of our home city of Lynn. Hundreds come to show their support, and people of all ages can participate in a variety of activities: from the Kids Fun Run to the 5k.
Despite another gloomy forecast, we showed up early to set up for a fun day of support with the Bent Water tap truck, and made the most of a great event despite the rain! And Team Fox completely crushed their fundraising goal for the day, which is what it’s all about.
This event truly combines so much of what we love: a cause we believe in, a bit of exercise, and a community that we support. We’re grateful to play our part in the fight against Parkinson’s Disease.
