Taproom Associate: Part-Time

Position Summary:

Bent Water Brewing Company is seeking energetic, friendly individuals with established knowledge and passion for craft beer to join our team as a customer-focused Taproom Associate.  Job duties will include serving patrons in our taproom, giving guided information tours through our facilities, as well as assisting during brewery events, which may occur on or off-site.  The ideal candidates have a love and passion for craft beer, have previous beer, bar and service industry experience, are extremely organized and detail oriented and are both responsible and hard working.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

·         Serve beer in our taproom, ensuring that every interaction is a positive one

·         Maintain a thorough understanding of our beer, the Bent Water culture and our processes

·         Have the ability to confidently discuss beer with both our enlightened and our curious patrons

·         Be receptive to learning from our brewing staff

·         Act as knowledgeable liaison between the customer and the brewery

·         Be friendly, conversational, knowledgeable but also approachable

·         Suggest beer effectively

·         Be knowledgeable about the draft system maintenance and troubleshooting

·         Must be able to lift/handle kegs

·         Must be able to respond quickly and learn new processes quickly

·         Maintain constant cleanliness and sanitation of the taproom, bathrooms and potentially other areas of the property as needed

·         Restock inventory and supplies as needed

·         Provide enthusiastic and informative guided tours of the brewing facilities (script will be provided but must be committed to memory and seem conversational/off the cuff)


Knowledge & Skills

·         Craft beer experience and knowledge is strongly preferred

·         Must have strong working knowledge of beer styles and a passion to learn more

·         Familiarity with local beer culture and publications is strongly preferred

·         Understanding of the brewing process is preferred

·         2+ years of brewery, bar or serving experience is preferred

·         Ability to speak in front of crowds or give presentations

·         Ability to interact professionally and effectively with employees and the general public

·         Must be able to lift heavy objects and stand for extended periods of time

·         Experience in a fast paced environment

·         Must be able to think quickly, adapt and be flexible

·         Must be at least 21 years old

·         TIPS certification is helpful

·         Cicerone training a bonus


·         This position requires flexibility for potential unexpected shift coverage, special events and weekend availability.  Our taproom is open Thursday through Sunday.  The taproom may be open on additional days and evenings for special events. Work hours could be as early as 9:00 am and as late as 1:00 am.
