♬ LIVE MUSIC ♬- Florie Namir

Florie Namir moved to the U.S. for her graduate studies, earning her doctorate in classical composition in February 2017. During her studies she wrote songs about her experience living in the U.S. and started performing them in New England.

er songs translate her experiences living away from her first home, viewing the world with eyes of a stranger with jazz, 90's alternative rock and classical music influences.

Her classical compositions draw elements from Jewish themes and Israeli songs. Invited fellow at Accademia Musicale Chigiana in Italy and at the International Summer Academy of Music in Germany. Her piece “Delevarnu” was recorded by the Fischoff Gold Medal winning ensemble, Akropolis Reed Quintet.

As an educator, Florie has an Affiliated Artist post at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and runs a private music studio for piano, voice and composition/theory in Brookline and Newton areas.
